Why is my Apply button greyed out?

The Apply button is disabled when profile, email, onboarding, assessment, payout, or role-fit requirements are incomplete.

If Apply is greyed out, Anastasis is missing something required before you can submit an application. The button is disabled to prevent incomplete applications from reaching the client.

Most common causes

  • Your email is not verified.
  • One or more onboarding steps are missing from completedSteps.
  • Your readinessStatus is still NOT_READY or PARTIAL.
  • Required Assessments are still NOT_STARTED or IN_PROGRESS.
  • Your Payout method is not connected.
  • Your profile is submitted but still under Anastasis review.
  • The role requires a tool, language, schedule, or country match your profile does not show.

What to check

From the contractor dashboard, look at the profile completion card. If it is below 100%, click Edit profile.
Open the onboarding wizard and finish any pending steps, especially Professional profile, Work preferences, Payout method, Assessments, Video presentation, and Documents & compliance.
Check the dashboard quick actions for Complete assessments, Upload documents, or Start payout setup.
Return to Browse jobs and open the role again. If Apply is still disabled, read the message next to the button; it should name the missing requirement.

Why Anastasis gates applications

Clients review applications as candidate packets. They expect your profile proof, assessments, availability, requested rate, and payout readiness to be current. Sending a partial packet makes the application weaker and creates extra back-and-forth.

Once email verification is complete, all 10 onboarding steps are saved, and your profile is submitted, the backend can move you toward READY_TO_APPLY and the Apply button can unlock for eligible roles.
